This post isn't going to be about a particular pair of shoes, but a whole website dedicated to interesting shoes. The first thing I thought when I saw it was, "This website was made just for people like me, wasn't it?". The second though was, "Uh oh, which pair am I going to feature".

I'm not sure even I would have the guts or appropriate clothing to rock these, but I still think they are pretty interesting nonetheless.

They don't offer them for sale on their website, but they do have a list of stockists where you may find them if you are lucky enough to live next to one.

How are these for "interesting"? When I first saw them, my reaction was "ummmm", but the more I looked at them, the more they grew on me. It's too bad the sole is rubber instead of real wood, but they do kind of make a nice nod to nature, don't they? I think they would look cute with a long flowy cream colored chiffon dress like this one.

Pucci - Rain Boots

I'm not really a big fan of Pucci or rain boots either for that matter, but when I saw these, I just about died of a heart attack. How is it possible they made clunky rain boots into a beautiful work of art? They are so unique and lovely... I could just go on forever.

If you live in a rainy place and like they as much as I do, they may well be worth the investment of $153.95 over at Zappos Couture.

Fly London - Frida

I know there are a lot of shoes right now in this type of style, but I think these ones are just different enough to be mentioned. I really like how they can be dressed up or down and are cute without being too cutsie. I'm not a big fan of pink, but I really like the way it's used here. It really adds to the retro feeling of the shoes.

Niki Robinson - Ribbon Bootie

I'm really loving these Ribbon Bootie shoes from Niki Robinson. The flowing ribbons and velvet are what really set these apart from other oxford inspired shoes.

They are limited edition and are available at Té Casan, a new boutique opened in NYC or by phone order for $235. There are 6 other emerging designers that are definitely worth checking out on their web site as well.

Marcello Toshi - Lengua

I'm really enjoying watching the Marcello Toshi fall 2006 line. All of the shoes are simple, yet have small details that make them magical, like this elfish style "Lengua".

Each pair is handcrafted and take three days to make.

Mari Hirata - The White Shoes Series

Chanel - Jewel-Heeled Jean Boots

I just came across these in the December issue of Vogue Spain. Words really fail to describe just how ugly these boots are. I mean, who would wear boots that look like they are made out of old cheap jeans? And the jeweled heels up the ick factor considerably. I was surprised to see that they come from Chanel's fall/winter 2006 couture collection.

I have to admit they do look better on than off, as they are in the first picture in Vogue, however, they really just look like you are wearing jeans, so what's the point?

I couldn't find a place where they are selling them online, so you would need to call Chanel or stop by one of their stores for the price. I'm sure they will be plenty pricey.

United Nude - Mono Eams

United Nude was created by an architect, Rem D Koolhaas, who came up with the idea of using the Mobius for the shoe. He joined his friend, a shoemaker named Galahad JD Clark, to form a company "set on releasing specific, iconic products, and rejecting broad seasonal ranges". Together their results are outstanding.

What I like about this shoe in particular is the classic design with the unique heel. According to the information on their site, the heel was modeled after the legs of the Ray and Charles Eames chair. This is the type of shoe that you could wear for years and would never go out of style, yet always remain unique. That's a hard combination!

I've been trying to figure out in exactly what kind of situation you might wear these in. They look like they may make a more attractive alternative to snow boots, but that doesn't really make sense with the 4.25" heals, does it?

The good news is that they only cost $49.97 at Gotham City Online if you are willing to experiment with them.

What would a atypical shoe blog be without a posting for shoes from Irregular Choice? These are the type of shoes you either love, hate, or love to hate. I belong to the first category.

These conjure images of those funny court jesters from times of old, hence the name "juggler". Can't you just imagine throwing these on with a pair of brightly colored tights?

They are out of stock at their store, however, if you live in the U.S., you can find them for $153 at Zappos in both black and red.

Mystery Shoes

I saved these shoes last month to feature on this blog while I was still planning it, but now I can't remember what brand they are.

I know that I found them on zappos.com, but couldn't find them again after multiple searches.

They have a classic design, but what I think really sets them apart is the beautiful heart details around the back and stitching on the front. They are really the type of shoe that you could wear with dresses, skirts, and jeans and are perfectly suitable for a fall wardrobe.

I'd love to hear if anyone knows what these are or where I can find them again.

Following yesterday's post about shoes with one foot different than the other, it seemed suitable to follow up with a pair from Camper's Twin collection.

They say on their site, "They are twins. Not equal but complementary. The pair concept never made more sense." If that doesn't make you smile, the Japanese style serigraph from Spanish artist Tatiana Sarasa should do it.
